ARS 12-821.01 (Notice of Claim)
What it means
Requires a written notice of claim to be filed with a public entity within 180 days of when the cause of action accrues.
A minor, or a person who is insane or incompetent, may file within 180 days after that disability ends. Missing the deadline is a complete defense to the claim, but the public entity must raise it or it waives the defense.
