Maximum Medical Improvement (MMI)

What it means

The point at which an injured person’s medical condition has stabilized and is unlikely to improve further with additional treatment. MMI marks when permanent damages can be assessed.

Arizona context

Reaching MMI is typically a key milestone before settlement. Doctors document MMI in the medical record. Future damages are calculated based on the MMI condition and any permanent impairment.
