What it means
Legal responsibility for damages regardless of fault or intent. The plaintiff doesn’t have to prove negligence, only that the defendant’s action caused the harm.
Arizona context
Arizona applies strict liability to dog bites (ARS 11-1025), product defects, and abnormally dangerous activities. The owner of a dog is liable for bites regardless of the dog’s history.
